Deep Lessons I learned though the years
It took me a little while to work out this poem for Tuesday creations. But these are my lessons.
You handed me the compass:
The belief that my mind has no limits
to the heights I might reach.
You taught me the law of the mirror—
to hold respect in my palm
and offer it first,
knowing that how I move through the world
is how the world moves back to me.
I learned the grit of hard work
and the quiet art of gratitude,
realizing that nothing is promised,
and everything is earned.
And when I trailed behind the others,
you didn’t call it a delay.
You called it a foundation.
Because I wasn’t just skimming the surface;
I was learning it by heart.
I took the long way
so I would never forget the map.
These lessons I learned from a wise women she is my mom. Maybe one day I will be. But I’m still learning and I love how she not only teaches she loves with her whole heart. I hope one day I will be as strong as she is.

Well done Shari. I loved getting to the subject and finding you in your mom.
I remember watching my mother's work and her example. My mother was hardworking, patient, persevering, and a crybaby. Personality traits are inherited! I'm still learning, but I like this article and agree. Right now, I'm working hard, desperately aiming to maintain the status quo. I truly believe that mothers have big hearts and strong souls. Thank you for sharing this.🙏🌸😅
