From defeated to living daily
A journey I embrace,
No longer defeated
I walk in His daily grace.
Like a shepherd guiding the flock
I lead with love and gentle care,
With a pastoring heart I tend to wounds
Offering solace and a listening ear.
I empower voices to rise
Sharing knowledge that sets spirits free
That illuminates the path
Trusting Christ as your true identity.
Once lost in the shadows
My heart subdued,
Now walking in freedom
My purpose renewed.
Through His grace I’m empowered
My heart set ablaze,
Once defeated now living daily
I’m singing His praise.
Step into the light
Let your faith take flight,
From defeated to living daily
Embrace the good fight.
With faith as your anchor
And God’s love as your guide,
In His grace, we conquer
Walking side by side.
This week's theme, "MY GIFTS," inspired a reflection on the spiritual gifts that have guided my path to this point and empowers me to serve others. In this poem, "Empowering Hearts, Igniting Spirits," I explore the transformative power of how the spiritual gifts of shepherding, pastoring, and teaching – gifts that have not only shaped my own journey but also allow me to guide others toward living a life of intention, clarity, resilience, and purpose through faith-based coaching.
Through heartfelt words, the poem traces a journey from the shadows of defeat to living in the light of God’s daily grace. It's an invitation to embrace our faith in Jesus as a compass, to find strength in God's love, and to walk alongside others in a shared pursuit of spiritual growth and empowerment. I hope these words resonate with you and perhaps even spark a reflection on your own unique gifts and how you might use them to illuminate the path and impact the life for others.
Thank you Ann. I struggled for years to find myself. Being in a family with multiple religions and faiths was very confusing to me. I knew there was a higher power, I just didn't know which one it was. It took me a long time to realize it was Jesus that I needed. I followed Him until the death of my second husband. I blamed Him for his death and I turned my back on Him. Years later I realized He never left me. I am a Bible believing Christian. I have no religion but I have 1 faith, 1 Lord, and 1 baptism. He is the lamp at my feet and the light of my path
Love your poem. Such an interesting life journey.
