Grace - Again
I originally wrote "Grace" in 2021 on Mighty Network. This is a true story about my son in 2008'ish. To this day, I can still feel Andrea's mom's grace upon me. 2021 Once upon a time My son took the High school bus home. He sat near a group of boys That teased a girl. My son didn’t participate But was suspended with the others. We knew the family. I saw the mom Weeks after the incident. She told me she knew My son was not part Of the offending boys. I was in tears. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know what grace was. I believe she extended grace to me. I will never forget that feeling. ************************************** 2026 Once upon a time My son was accused of a slander crime Homeward bound on the high school yellow bus There was a nasty fuss A group of neighborhood boys Made a lot of noise As inappropriate words unfurl They despicably teased a girl Christopher did not partake Still he was suspended even though it was a mistake We knew the girl’s kin I knew of the offending boys’ sin I remember the exact place Andrea’s Mom & I in the same space I was friends with her Mom Despite it all, she remained calm She shared that C was not involved However, via the school, it was not absolved I was in tears As it was an answer to my prayers In another Mom’s embrace She quietly offered me grace I will never forget that feeling Of a Mom’s (mine) release and healing.

I love both examples of the story.
Two beautiful poems, Dia. I recall the original verse, while both express the feeling of grace given to you, the second one showed the depth of grace. Well done!
