Photography
For many years I worked for a newspaper, where one of my responsibilities was taking and developing black-and-white photographs for articles. That experience sparked my love of photography, and I have been capturing images ever since.
My favorite subjects are flowers and elements of nature—especially those that display my other fascination: the Golden Ratio. The Golden Ratio (approximately 1.618), often connected with Fibonacci’s sequence, appears throughout the natural world. It is nature’s way of growing, spiraling, and packing forms efficiently. Sunflowers, pinecones, shells, and even the proportions of the human body reflect this beautiful mathematical pattern.
Honeybees offer another fascinating connection to Fibonacci’s sequence through their genetic structure, which relates to the Golden Ratio. The human face also reflects similar proportions—its width compared to its height often approaches this same ratio.
Once you begin looking for these patterns, you start to see them everywhere. Many years ago, in a photography class, we discussed using proportions and natural balance in composition to create depth and visual interest in photographs.
It’s a beautiful way to look at the world around us—and especially meaningful when viewing it from behind the camera.

Beautiful photos, Robin, and a very interesting and fascinating lesson about patterns around us. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. ❤️🤗
Beautiful flowers..nature is full of patterns when one takes the time to stop and smell the roses!
