I carry this photo in my pocket
To remind me to speak kindly
To the little girl inside me
The one who loved to play house
In the child-size log cabin covered with morning glories
The one who floated in an inner tube
Further out on Edinboro Lake than she was suppose to
The one who colored rainbows and happy faces
With her box of 64 assorted Crayola crayons
The one who tap danced so fast
She lost the yellow sombrero off her head
The one who cut out her paper doll family
Hoping to have a friendly talk
The one who dressed up and explored the woods
With her merry band of friends
I carry this photo in my pocket
To remind me to ask once a day
To the little girl inside me
“Janet, do you wanta play?”
Time Has Come homework: I loved to color as a child
Posting early because we are flying to Los Angeles, California VERY early Wednesday morning, and I have to spend Tuesday being a “big girl” getting ready. Ha! My granddaughter and her fiancé are getting married this Saturday.
Here’s to a week of youthful happiness. Cheers!
I would have loved to be friends with that little girl.
Have a safe trip Jan! I love your childhood memories. 👏👏xoxo
