5 days before, the Beatles were in Vancouver. We watched news coverage on TV. I was only 8 so didn't understand why the crowd was screaming. A few years later I was playing Beatles tunes on the trumpet (first instrument I learned to play).
The screaming mob of preteen and teenager girls was crazy. Waiting to get in the venue someone would scream “they are over here” and everyone would run that way. I love that you played their tunes on the trumpet. How many instruments do you play? ❤️🤗
My first instrument was trumpet which I started at 11. When I got braces at 15, switched to percussion, which I still play (involving many instruments). Also learned to play tenor and soprano baroque rosewood block flutes. And voice and piano too. Because of arthritis I can no longer play most instruments except our Marimba ... and singing of course. 🎼🎶🎵🎶
Your love of music as well as your talents are amazing. My love far exceeds my talents in this area. May your week be full of blessings and beautiful music! ❤️🙏
Music has always been a big part of my life. I know enough about music to realize I'm a good musician, not a great one. And I was blessed to have many wonderful experiences. Our nephew Ben and his dad Jim (Chris' brother) have the most natural talent in the family.
I was also 12 at the time. So young but it is still fresh in my mind. I remember what I wore. Today if I close my eyes I can’t even remember what I have on now. 😂😂. Enjoy your week Elaine! ❤️🤗
You lucky duck! Those were my days, but my parents were some of those who hated their long hair. When I was in NYC a few years ago, the Double-decker bus took us passed the hotel where Lennon was shot. Made me tear up. Timeless!
I was not a Beatles fan until the Sargent Peppers album came out. Side note: my son got a chance to work with Paul McCartney when he appeared in Dallas
I bet working with Paul was a memorable experience. That is so cool. If I remember Sargent Peppers was released in 1967. My middle son took an elective “The History of the Beatles” in college. He said it was so interesting learning about their influence and work in social change. I hope you have a great week Juli! ❤️🤗
Hi Juliann, it's Jill Derby. I was commenting to Linda about her Beatles post. While I was too young to attend concerts in the 60's, my very hip grandmother who thought they were cute gave me three 45 r.p.m. records which made me a fan. Your son is so lucky that he got to work with Paul, he's always been my favorite!
Linda, thanks for this trip down memory lane! Even though I never got to see them in person, the Beatles greatly influenced my musical tastes through the years and still do. Nowadays I can't imagine spending $2.75 on a concert ticket!
It can be so fun to travel memory lane. The floor seat tickets were $5.50. We were very high up and couldn’t hear a thing over the screaming. 😂. I agree with you so much on how much they changed our musical taste. I hope you have a great week ahead Jill. ❤️🤗
I'll bet the screaming didn't matter to you that night....did you get through the night without fainting, ha ha! What a great memory even though you were high in the nose bleed section. You have a great week too Linda!
Yes The Beatles, was my husband's favorite. My most favorite is Here Comes The Sun. I Have my husband's whole Beatle collection, don't have a clue what to do with it.Have a great day . Thanks Halina.
This is just your warm up lol 😂😂

All I can say is music inspires me. 😂😂. Have a great week Halina ❤️🤗

My son worked the camera. He met Paul’s wife. She had Paul sign an autographed dvd for him
That’s really nice!
What a wonderful experience, Linda!

Hi Dana, I have many Beatles favorites and Here Comes the Sun is one of mine too. Especially after the long, cold NY winters!
Donnie Mac kind of learned to plat it. My favorite.
I think I see you! lol What a memory and experience!
😂😂😂. We were so far up we could not hear a thing or see much of anything. It was all about the experience. I hope your week is an amazing one. ❤️🤗
